Kawartha Downs Racetrack and Speedway
Kawartha Downs started out as a racetrack for harness racing in 1972 near the small town of Fraserville and was expanded into an entertainment centre with a wider public appeal by adding a paved speedway in 1999 on the inside part of the racetrack.
Kawartha Downs racetrack is an all year harness racing track and offers on track betting as well as international simulcast betting on site.
Slots
The OLG slots gaming floor at Kawartha Downs were launched in 1999 remaining open 24 hours a day throughout the year generating jobs and revenue which is used to support projects in the community.
The slots gaming floor is in the same building as the racetrack featuring 450 electronic multi-denominational gaming machines with a betting range of 1 cent to $5.
Players using the OLG slots enjoy free parking at the racetrack, complimentary coat check and disabled access with wheelchairs available on demand.
There are ATM bank machines and a currency exchange counter on the gaming floor as well as lottery sales. Players are offered complimentary tea, coffee and pop on the gaming floor.
The Grandstand at the racetrack can accommodate 2500 with an additional 300 people seated in the clubhouse. Entry to the clubhouse and to the grandstand is free of charge and guests can enjoy drinks in the Finish Line Bar and Starting Gate Lounge.
Dining
The Players Lounge and café is a casual restaurant with an a la carte menu situated on the slots floor. Buffets and special meals are prepared for big event days. Slots players also have the pleasure of Finish Line Bar at their disposition even when the race track facility is closed.
The Grandstand Starting Gate Dining Room can seat up to 300 people on race days for formal dining and can be rented for private events with full catering for between 10 and 300 people on non race days.
